If you see a major increase in the online traffic to your website and in case after you check the visitor stats it turns out that it comes from countries across the world or from other servers, your website is probably being attacked by an automatic bot. Such programs go through random sites attempting to log in to their admin area through a brute-force attack or to leave spam comments below any article where this sort of an option is made available. However, that is something relatively popular these days, but if you know the IP addresses from which the attacks come, you may block them, so the bots won't be able to access your Internet site in any way. Needless to say, you'll be able to block IPs even if you allow only people from particular countries to access your site.

IP Blocking in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud hosting account with us and you wish to block one or several IP addresses, you may use the IP Blocking tool, that is integrated into our in-house built Hepsia CP. Through a really simple interface, you'll be able to stop any IP from accessing your content even if you have not had a web hosting account before. All it takes to complete that is to log in to your Control Panel, to check out the IP Blocking section, to select a specific domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to type in the IP address. You'll not have to do anything complex if you wish to block an entire network - you'll just need to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot shall block the entire range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs will be listed in the same section, so you'll be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with a mouse click.
